你听说过关于日本原一平先生的故事吗?
原一平本是一位极其普通平凡的保险推销员，他相貌平平，身高只有158厘米，但是，他为什么能成为日本家喻户晓，妇孺皆知的名人呢?正是因为他有事没事就研究微笑，对着一面随身携带的小镜子练习，并把这些微笑应用到工作中去，才走向了成功，成为鼎鼎有名的人。
原一平在工作中，在生活中，一共研究出了39种微笑，并且自己也将这39种微笑练得非常自然。有的微笑能让人感到温暖，有的微笑能让人感到亲切，有的微笑能带给人们力量，有的微笑能让烦躁不安的人立刻安静下来，有的微笑能让你不由自主地去聆听。
正是他的微笑，才让人乐意购买他推销的保险，认为他推销的保险有百利而无一害;正是他的微笑，让客户与他成为无话不谈、无事不说的知心朋友。

记得一次去医院看病，我坐在椅子上排队等待，一个男的对着护士说：“你们这是怎么搞的?医生约了我上午9点整来，你自己看看都已经9点40分了。”我本以为护士肯定会以牙还牙，然后两人会大动干戈，谁知，护士却微笑着对那个男的说：“先生，实在很抱歉，人太多了，我进去帮您看看，也催一下。请您稍等。”过了一会儿，只看见那个护土微笑着说：“先生，到您了，请进去。”我不禁佩服起这个护士来，过了一会儿，那个男的出来了，他找到刚才一直对他微笑的'护土，诚恳地说：“刚才实在对不起，请原谅。”护士依旧微笑着说：“没关系的。”
可见，微笑有时候还能化干戈为玉帛。

A person who believes in them will keep trying to reach his goal no matter how many times he fails. In my opinion, the quality of determination to succeed is an important one to have. Therefore, I believe that we should never give up.
One reason is that if we give up too easily, we will rarely achieve anything. It is not unusual for us to fail in our first attempt at something new, so we should not feel discouraged and should try again. Besides, if we always give up when we fail, we will not be able to develop new skills and grow as people. Another reason we should never give up is that we can learn from our mistakes only if we make a new effort. If we do not try again, the lesson we have learned is wasted. Finally, we should never give up because as we work to reach our goals, we develop confidence, and this confidence can help us succeed in other areas of our lives.
Probably the greatest example of persistence is Abraham Lincoln. Born into poverty, Lincoln was faced with defeat throughout his life. He lost eight elections, twice failed in business and suffered a nervous breakdown.
He could have quit many times - but he didn't and because he didn't quit, he became one of the greatest presidents in the history of our country.
Lincoln was a champion and he never gave up.
In short, it is important that we don’t give up when working for our goals. Whether we succeed in the end or not, we will learn something, and what we learn will help us to become better, more confident people.
