Jane Eyre, is a poor but aspiring, small in body but huge in soul, obscure but self-respecting girl. After we close the covers of the book, after having a long journey of the spirit, Jane Eyre, a marvelous figure, has left us so much to recall and to think:

We remember her goodness: for someone who lost arms and blinded in eyes, for someone who despised her for her ordinariness, and even for someone who had hurt her deeply in the past.

We remember her pursuit of justice. It’s like a companion with the goodness. But still, a virtuous person should promote the goodneon one side and must check the badneon the other side.

We remember her self-respect and the clear situation on equality. In her opinion, everyone is the same at the God’s feet. Though there are differences in status、in property and also in appearance, but all the human being are equal in personality.

We also remember her striving for life, her toughneand her confidence…

When we think of this girl, what she gave us was not a pretty face or a transcendent temperament that make us admire deeply, but a huge charm of her personality.

Actually, she wasn’t pretty, and of course, the ordinary appearance didn’t make others feel good of her, even her own aunt felt disgusted with it. And some others even thought that she was easy to look down on and to tease, so when MiIngram met Jane Eyre, she seemed quite contemptuous, for that she was obviously much more prettier than ‘the plain and ugly governess’. In my mind, though a person’s beauty on the face can make others once feel that one is attractive and charming, if his or her mind isn’t the same beautiful as the appearance, such as beauty cannot last for, when others find that the beauty which had charmed them was only a falsity, it’s not true, they will like the person no more. For a long time, only a person’s GREat virtue, a noble soul, a beautiful heart can be called as AN EVERLASTING BEAUTY, just as Kahill Gibran has said, that ‘Beauty is a heart enflamed and a soul enchanted’. I can feel that how beauty really is, as we are all fleshly men, so we can’t distinguish whether a man is of nobleneor humbleness, but fleshly men, so we can’t distinguish whether a man is of nobleneor humbleness, but as there are great differences in our souls, and from that, we can know that whether a man is noble or ordinary, and even obscure, that is, whether he is beautiful or not.

Her story makes us thinking about life and we learn much from her experience, at least, that is a fresh new recognition of the real beauty。

(Chapter VII The Sounding of the Wild) When the last sentence vanished from my eyes, I can still perceive an echo of a song - a wild song, which knocks up my dizzy mind that always cheerfully sink into the so-called civilized world without questioning. Wild, is no longer a symbol of the law of jungle but a headspring where streams out love, passion, bravery, loyalty, friendship, venture, competition and tolerance all these virtues can easily be found in the Call of the Wild.

Jack London (1876-1916) is a worldwide renowned novelist. His stories successfully reflect the contradictory views of man’s nature and destiny in and against the wild, and his "fight to survive" notion has gained him and his works timeless popularity, particularly, the Call of the Wild

It tells a story of a gigantic dog, named Buck, who is stolen from a rich and comfortable home and forced to learn to survive as an Alaskan sled dog. Buck, at first, is too savage for the company of man until he coincidently encounters his beloved master-kindhearted John Thornton. Finally, John’s incidental death breaks Buck’s last tie to the man and drives him into his long-desired wild with his pack. In the story, Buck and John simply adopt themselves to answer the call of the wild. When it comes to Buck’s mind that one day he will eventually leave John- his master, all he wants to do is just to help him finish the gold-rush-trip. He " from then on, night and day, never put a halt, in desperation, he burst into long stretch of flight, did not to stay him (John)…" (Chapter VII The Sounding of The Wild) Buck wished to remember John’s image forever, he "for two days and nights never left camp, never let Thornton out of his sight. He followed him about at his work, watched him while saw him into blankets at night and out of them in the morning…" (Chapter VII) When I read these words I just could not hold my tears bursting. Can a real man devote himself to loyalty and friendship in such a way? On the other hand, John Thornton is not only a dog-lover but also a brave and venturous man. He is so straightforward and simple that makes him an accommodating man. Once he firmly roots a goal into his heart, it seems that nothing could prevent him from accomplishing it except death. I do not know whether the persistence is the most vital element to make a man successful, but what I know is that you are not far away from success once you occupy it.

It is Jack London who plunges me into the animated wild from the hustle-and-bustle and from desperate city. There, I merely cannot deny the attraction of Buck’s bark, which enlightens me to pursue another lost half of the nature in mankind, and to dig out a true meaning of life. Dare we imagine that London intentionally employs Buck to set us a model with perfect characters (count barbarity out)? The answer is affirmed. We, as animals, are from the wild but shedding off more and more wild signs, which demonstrate us as the "uncivilized". However, who can fully guarantee that we have not overlooked some essential wild-endowed virtues? Especially, nowadays, it seems more crucial for us to stop looking at the post-industrialized world and to ponder for a while. When cheats, betrayals, lies, lusts and crimes stuff a materialized society, whether London uses this novel to help himself escape the reality or warn the earthy people, to us, modern man, is all the same.It appears horrible that in modern society many people are enthusiastically talking about how to build up "special relations" to the authority, deceiving and lying to each other.

To them life is a mask-wearing process rather than a hard work. Every time, you browse WebPages, scandals in politics, business, the entertainment circle and even on campus crowd into your eyes. Oh, what is the essence of human beings? What is the civilization to us? Do we need to look back at where we came from? Is it good or bad for us to speak out what we think and to do what the consciences demand us to? Are we wasting talents given by the mighty nature? Be an honest, straightforward, warmhearted, emotional and responsible man or be a shrewd, cold hearted and astute hypocrite? While embracing the "civilized" rubbish, we are losing those good virtues, which are the calls of the wild. Once we lose them, we are to lose ourselves, and we will get nowhere. I wish this dreadful thought is totally a fallacy, but, now, it is chilling me hard.

One day when I happen to stand on the top of a grand mountain to observe a boundless prairie enveloped by the sapphire firmament and combed by gusts of the rhythmical west wind, a morning sun sprinkles me her warmth and brilliance in a graceful way, however, at that moment, I am afraid that I cannot appreciate these beauties, I am a lost " civilized man" then.

to be honest, this movie is the best movie about father which i have seen. it is different from other movie because it through a fantastic story to show the love among father and his son.

the beginning of this movie seems strange. in many situations, the father told his son he had got a ring from a big fish. however, the son thought that story which his father said is ridiculous.

on the wedding ceremony of his son, the father told that story once again. his son felt that made him beyond endurance. so there was no any communication between the son and father in the next three years until he knew his mother had got a serious illness.

then, the son tried to communicate to his father. his goal is that he wants to know if those stories are existing which his father said. the son visited the person who knows his father and look for the truth through the data about his father.

finally, he found those data prove which his father said were right. until the father died, his son knew the meaning of his father. he made a fantastic and beautiful ending to the story of his father.

at the end of the movie, on the funeral of the father, nearly all of the people who had appeared in the story of the father came, but they were not exaggerating like what his father said. therefore his son understood what his father had done for him.

in my opinion, nearly all of us think father is great when we are children. equivalently, fathers also hope their son can remember him and his love although one day they go away. so we can understand the father in the movie why he has created so many stories.

there is no reason for us to destroy those beautiful stories. we need to distinguish true or false of all things but the people who we love. the truth of thing may be tedious for us.

therefore we will respect the people who make life colorful for the love in their hearts. in the end, it seems not important whether the father became a fish or not. what more important is the father will exist in the mind of his son.

that is the power of father’s love.

Why Mulan sticks out as a great Disney film.I was impressed by this Disney film for so many reasons, too many to list here, but I will go on the record as saying that Mulan has got to be one of the best Disney female characters that ever saw production, in the midst of a colorful and artistic film, that will resonate in your memory.Mulan sticks out in my mind for this reason.For once, we have a strong female lead, or at the least, stronger than most of them.She isn't counted among the Disney “princesses” line-up.She doesn't want for herself, and she seeks to look deeper within herself to discover her inner being.She isn't like Ariel, who wants to be someone else.She isn't like Jasmine, who sits in luxury, waiting to be swept off her feet by Prince Charming, just like Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and almost any female character that Disney brings to life.And while she does share some traits among this list, she stands out because she does something that these do not.She uses her mind.Mulan, in fact, has more in common with male Disney leads than the female Disney leads.Mulan is a thinker, and a do-er.She's resourceful, like Aladdin.She is quick to act, like Eric(mermaid.)And she sacrifices herself for the sake of others, like Hercules.She also speaks her mind, even in a culture that does not allow such a thing.She doesn't waste time pining about “will I ever find true love?” Indeed, we see that she has an attraction to Shang(as he was her husband in the legends,)but we see her uncomfortable and unsure of meeting the Match-maker.She begs for her father's life when Chi-Fu came to the village.When you see her make her decision to take her father's place in the army, she does so out of her love for him, valuing his life above hers.She doesn't wish to become a man to see what it is like or for a change.Only to save his life.She later doubts herself and her reasons for going, but she did so because of her inner strengths, something other female Disney leads too often lack.(And it is these strengths that Shang is attracted to at the end.)This movie also has a simple, but very effective villain, Shan Yu.Though not as memorable as Jafar or Ursula, he is more effective and more menacing because he is not fantastic.By that, I mean that he is not magical, he holds no special power.He is portrayed as a man, and as a man that could have truly existed, performing vicious acts that men do.We see the destruction that his army lays to a village, and when Mulan finds the doll, it shows that Shan Yu left no one living, man, woman or child.This is what makes him so effective as a villain, showing how truly human he indeed is.Granted, the producers did not develop him in any great depth, but they showed enough of him to remind us of his threat to China.Besides, sometimes the better villains are the ones you don't know too much about, or see a lot of.Of the rest of the supporting cast, I will only mention four of them as being memorable in any real way.Chi-Fu, the emperor's consultant, was a reminder of the way many men looked at women in this culture.He thrusts his head up when Mulan begs for her father's life, and when she is discovered to be a woman, though she is a hero, he is quick to insult her, and to order her execution, simply because she impersonated a man.The other three were, of course, her comrades, Ling, Yao, and Chian Po.Though they were mainly comic relief(almost like a 3 stooges set,)they remained loyal to Mulan and trusted her fully, even after she was discovered.I like them, because they were not discriminatory to her in any way, even trying to stop her execution.When Mulan told them she had an idea to help the emperor faster, they were the first to her side, even when Shang was still reluctant to do so.Overall, a wonderful movie to the Disney list.If you haven't seen it, then do so, you won't regret it.And yes, Mushu was a cool character as well.**** In Response to an earlier post by Phoenix-1 **** To expect any movie to accurately portray history in any way is lunacy.Even those movies that come close to historical accuracy are flawed in many ways.This was a way of telling a story, as any movie is.It can be argued that it tries to provoke curiosity in another culture, but it is also meant to entertain.I would also like to point out that Mulan is really not “historical,” like Joan of Arc, but rather she is a legend, much like Hercules and Aladdin, who also come from the realm of myth, stories and legends.And while there is some difference between the original legend and this movie, your examples of how Disney would butcher tales of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln do not compare to this story in any way.Your arguments for comparison should be better applied to Pocahontas, as she was an actual historical figure.海底总动员

身为英文专业毕业生,一直不屑于读一些孩子英文启蒙的书籍,这次是为了弄明白自然拼读法,大补这类书籍,汪培珽的《培养孩子的英文耳朵》其实与自然拼读法无关,但读来颇有感触,赞叹不已,所以想推荐给更多的家长看,看到身边的很多家长把大把的时间、精力、金钱花在孩子的英文>培训上,却收效不佳,甚至适得其反,颇感痛心。

结合汪的经验和我和儿子的一些英语课,我总结如下:

汪的核心观点——给孩子喂>故事

不管是英语故事还是汉语故事,给孩子们讲故事是提高孩子们语言能力,甚至是抚养孩子们不可缺少的一课。换言之,亲自阅读的巨大能量远远高于简单的语言训练。

在米乐一两岁的时候,我就开始给他屯英文故事书,而且尽量选取他感兴趣的,比如英国bbc的花园宝宝系列,thomas and friends系列,richard scarry系列,兰登书屋的step into reading 1级,甚至更难的神奇校车系列,还有一些网友推荐的入门级英文读物,如大连理工的小橡树系列i’m going to read.

为了追求卓越和当当,我几乎搜遍了大多数价格低于30元的英文原创故事书。我的原则是一本书不超过30元。有时候一本儿童原著要1200元。那样的话,我的建议是出国买。

在我疯狂购入这些英文书时,我相信儿子会和我一样喜欢,不过出乎我意料的是,等我想给儿子喂英文故事书的时候,儿子已经有了一定的抵触情绪,这是我一直以来最苦恼的,每次我一开口英语,无论是讲故事还是对话,他就会跟我讲,'不要讲英语,讲汉语。'

同事也是同样的情形,她女儿才两岁多,同事给她念英文故事,她就打妈妈,也是非常明显的排斥英语,看来是小朋友的普遍情况,我不是强迫型的父母,也只好作罢。

我还和我儿子的英语外教讨论了这个问题。答案是我儿子需要动力。我建议我设计一些有趣的活动或游戏来吸引他,使他喜欢英语。其实,外教所说的动机,就是要激发儿子的兴趣,成为他学习的欲望。

我很赞同,不过我并不打算去设计游戏来和他玩英语,因为儿子在生活中更抵触我跟他用英语,这一点汪在书中也有提及,在没有语言环境的情况下,生硬的对话英语很别扭。巧合的是,我还打算从英文绘本开始,用有趣的故事吸引他。今天,我读了汪的书,重新燃起了给儿子讲英语故事的热情

关于语言关键期

我豪不怀疑小孩子惊人的语言能力,所以有家长问孩子几岁开始学英语好,我的回答一出生就可以,甚至从胎教开始,如汪在书中一再提及的,如果是很小的孩子,如一两岁,甚至一岁以前,在他们还没有太强的自主意识的时候,父母就可以用中英文故事同时喂给孩子,虽然我没有亲身体验,但我相信,孩子在大了之后会对中英文故事都习以为常的,估计对英语的抵触感会小很多。

虽然我没有喂进去英语,但我儿子在方言方面的表现我是有经验的,儿子说话不算太早,但一开口就是同时说武汉话(爸爸说)和普通话(妈妈说),跟我就是普通话,跟爸爸就自然切换为武汉话。在这方面,我在八宝树的一些混血家庭网站上做了一个调查。就像我儿子的方言说话情况一样,如果父母和孩子说不同的母语,孩子在开始说话时会有两种语言能力,同时能够辨别目标语的转换。

我想在这里加一句题外话。我发现很多家庭都能为孩子讲好普通话,也不能和孩子讲方言,怕影响孩子学习普通话。正如汪所说,孩子的大脑是极其神奇的,那里的语言能力是惊人的。上次去广州长隆,儿子就从公交广播里自己学了几句粤语,说得津津有味,我甚至都没注意到那些粤语报站,如果有可能,我会把儿子丢到广东和当地人生活一段时间,估计他能掌握粤语,其实方言也是日后孩子步入社会的一种能力储备,我甚至有一种未经考证的想法:无论是方言还是外语,都是对孩子语言能力的锻炼,是相互促进的,而不会相互排斥。

因此,我认为在条件允许的情况下,尽早给孩子们输入外语是可能的,但输入任何东西都不需要花很多钱。有很多英语培训是可以的。在非英语母语环境下,要培养孩子的英语能力,必须输入地道的经典作品。

心一父母推荐的花园宝宝动画片系列我也认为确实是很棒的英语启蒙动画片,男童女童都爱,我从来不给他放中文声音,甚至不想让他知道还有中文版的,不然他就不会为了看他喜爱的动画片儿勉强去听英文了。他爱看的thomas小火车系列,赛车总动员的电影,我也都只放英文,有时他会因为听不懂而失去兴趣,不过我还是坚持这样,他不喜欢可以不看,看其他的,但是看这几部就是英文的,我认为这对培养他的语感有用,相当于把他丢到国外去。

关于语言沉默期

儿子现在四岁半,对于他这两年所表现的对英语的排斥,我暂且用语言沉默期来解释。我的理解是,就像一个讲母语的孩子,我们会发现,一个孩子在很小的时候就能听懂他家人的话。他们不会说话,但他们可以用肢体语言表达自己的想法。直到有一天,他突然说话,这是一个流利的表达,就像一个成年人。这就是为什么许多人反对孩子们说“花”和“杯”。儿童有足够的能力直接接受成人的语言而不产生创造,但增加了儿童的语言负担。

此外,在母语环境下,孩子们需要一年左右的纯输入才能开口。要想孩子能说外语,除非生活在国外,在国内,很多家长就凭孩子一周一两次,一次个把小时的外语培训,小孩就能开口说外语,怎么可能,他们说的不过是一些死记硬背的单词或短句,判断孩子是否具备某种语言能力,首先应该是像母语一样能够自由表达思量。

因此,在中国,如果你想让孩子有语言能力,最好是喂故事,因为故事本身对孩子也有好处。但这个过程是漫长的,汪没有确切说要多久,至少不是一两年能实现的,但父母在这其中会不断发现孩子的变化与进步,需要有足够的信心与耐力。

关于外语培训机构

我的观点可能会伤害无辜者,但这只是我个人的想法和做法。汪说:“美国教育的理念是所有美国学校的最大优势。'

儿子从两岁开始跟外教学英语,我的原则是一定是外教,而且最好是英美外教,当然,我先入为主的想法也被打破过,儿子的一位意大利外教以他对孩子极大的热忱和多样的方法赢得了每位家长和孩子的信任,儿子至今对他念念不忘。

我一直很高兴能为儿子找到合适的启蒙老师。那是一位美国业余歌手。教学内容以歌舞为主。还有一个亲子班。我能看到我儿子的变化。一玩起来,儿子就嗨翻天,但到了一些学单词的环节,他就很难集中注意力,最终也是这方面的原因,我们退掉了后半年的课程,他不愿意去了强迫绝对无益。

后来我们又去了一家家附近的外资机构,我遗憾的是那里不是以唱唱跳跳为主了,但儿子当时也三岁半了,那里的教学游戏、教学动画片也基本符合儿子的年龄了。那里从主讲老师到教学主管都是老外,有时我也想过不送儿子来了,确实短期内看不到成效的,但一次和他们教学主管的交流再一次坚定了我的信心,那是一位美国年轻人,他对我提供的建议如饥似渴,他这种誓把事情做到最好的理念深深地打动了我,我把儿子送过去是放心的。

不过儿子一直还在那个机构的最主要原因是他自己愿意,或许他并不是喜欢外语,而是喜欢外教的贴贴纸,他的英国外教也告诉我,在课堂上,儿子最喜欢画画和唱歌,经常迫不及待,学些单词什么的,兴趣度就低些了。

为什么我迷信外教,非外教不可,简单说我并不是送儿子去学习的,而是给儿子创造机会能够多和老外接触,不管他们在一起是学习,是玩耍,其实都不重要。如汪所说的,并不是进了全美语学校的小孩都能说外语,一周一两次的外教培训就更加杯水车薪了,更关键的还是喂英文故事,这是家长每天都可以做到的。

中文、英文孰轻孰重

汪家里的中英文书一般都是等量增长的,如果因为学英语而不打好中文基础,实在是本末倒置。因此儿子排斥英文故事的时候,我随他心意念中文故事给他听,我发现四岁多的儿子经常会一本故事让我讲很多遍,很多天,讲到他能够纠正我讲故事中的点滴错误,讲到他能够翻着绘本自己讲一遍,虽然他几乎一个字不识。

儿子四岁半了,我们还没有教他识字,但他已经有认字的愿望了,经常会小手一指,问我这几个字是什么,他问的时候我才告诉他,英文更是如此,我根本就不希望儿子尽早识字,甚至拼写单词,这也是我为什么研究自然拼读法,我隐约觉得儿子还没到时机。

如汪说的,把识字的任务交给学校吧,在他不得不学这些的时候家长再助一把力,在有限的学前时光,让他们尽量玩吧。

'有声故事是孩子学习语文的法宝。'

在非英语环境中,原汁原味的英文故事朗读对于孩子语言学习是及其重要的,与父母的讲故事相得益彰,父母讲是亲子阅读,提高兴趣,解决问题,听原版的外籍人士讲则对培养语感帮助极大。

儿子没太听说英文故事,但我家车载dvd里一直是一盘孙敬修老爷爷讲的西游记,从我一年多前买回来,就那三四盘轮换,儿子一上车,就要求'孙悟空',我从不在车上给儿子开dvd,对大人、小孩都没有好处,这样听下来,每个故事无数遍地听,有一天,儿子突然开口自己把一段讲了出来,那语调、那用词与孙敬修老人无二,因此我非常赞同给孩子听英文故事,最好是他喜欢的,熟悉的故事,父母讲过的故事,再反复地听,不然的话刚起步会听不懂的。

汪多次提到录音带的优势,其实我觉得这其中关键是给孩子创造机会让他自己动手,选择自己喜欢的故事,自己打开听。确实,选碟片、开碟机对于四岁多的儿子都不是件易事,顺着汪的思路,我准备专门为儿子买个cd机,把他喜欢的碟片整理在一起(最好是刻录备份一下),供他自己选听。

父母如何为孩子读英文故事

尤其对于英文表达能力一般的父母来说,这是一个很大的问题,上次儿子同学的家长跟着我买了几本英文绘本,读给我听,我不好打击她,但如果她这样磕磕巴巴读下去,我确实担心会有副作用。

所以我们在购买时,最好选取有原版声音的绘本或英文启蒙读物,包括我,虽然我跟儿子读没有问题,我还是希望他多听外籍人士的声音。而且父母把有声故事买来后要自己做好准备工作,多听多模仿,再信心满满、语句流畅地读给孩子听,这样既起到了亲子阅读的功效,同时对提高父母语言能力也绝对好处多多。

一句中文、一句英文,中英三遍。

这是汪自己总结的经验,我持一定的保留看法,我目前是整个故事一遍中文一遍英文给儿子在读,当然目前我选的是非常短小的故事,一页几个字,全书十几页,如果再长的故事就要根据小孩的接受情况灵活掌握了,比如一段中文,一段英文。

目前,高等教育在培养大学生方面既要重视基本知识和基本技能的训练,又要注重实践经验的积累,引导学生经常参加各种社会实践活动,只有这样才能为社会培养出更多合格的建设者与**人。在创业教育中,应实事求是,根据实际把书本上的知识与具体实践相结合,为大学生“创新创业,实践成才”搭建一个平台、提供一块阵地,让大学生真正与社会接轨。青年就业创业素质训练营正是为广大学子提供了这样一个自我磨练、自我提升、不断创新的坚实阵地。
